JMC Academy‘s thriving alumni will be awarded for their achievements at the Academy’s new campus on Friday 27 June 561 Harris Street, Ultimo NSW

JMC Academy is Australia’s leading Creative Industries institution. Some of this country’s greatest creative talents are graduating from the school, which was established in Sydney back in 1982 and has grown to include campuses in Melbourne and Brisbane. Students are privy to world class facilities and industry standard equipment, guided through their studies by a network of committed training professionals, each of who have made their own impressionable mark upon the industry.

On Friday 27 June at 4pm many of the successful JMC Academy alumni will be presented with awards to acknowledge their various achievements in the entertainment industry. The event will take place at the Academy’s new Sydney campus located in the heart of Sydney in Ultimo. The event will be hosted by Angela Bishop.

James Reyne, who currently teaches song-writing at JMC Academy, will perform at the launch. James’s musical career initially took hold in the early 80’s when he and some friends formed the band Australian Crawl and led them to the top of the Australian music scene. Recent alumni Double Black and current students Erin and Eden will also perform at the June event.

Previous alumni include: ARIA nominee and Australia’s Got Talent Judge Timomatic; 2006 Entertainment Business Management Graduate Emma Chow who is co-host and producer of Edge 96.One Breakfast show and panelist on Channel 7’s Sunrise program; Daniel Brown, Audio Engineer and Sound Production Graduate who has worked on Channel 9’s The Voice, for the films Happy Feet 2 and Australia, and recorded the live concerts of Cold Play, One Direction and Justin Bieber; Thando Sikwila and Brendon Duff who are currently battling it out on The Voice; two past alumni the 3rd runner up on last year’s show Danny Ross and Alex Gibson who reached the Top 3 and Top 8 respectively; Jeremy Stones is the current music coordinator for the program; Damien Schneider Graduated from 3D Animation in 2010 and was technical animator on Happy Feet 2 and Aldo Sampaio who is currently Audio Director for Ubisoft Montreal, Canada working on Assassins Creed.

From day one, JMC Academy broke ground as Australia’s first private college to qualify for accreditation in the fields of Audio Engineering, Digital Television and Digital Multimedia. It offers Degrees and Diplomas in Music, Audio Engineering, Film and Television Production, Entertainment Business Management, 3D Animation and Game Design.

Many entertainment industry celebrities will be attending the event to pay tribute to the alumni. Red carpet photos will be happening from 4pm at 561 Harris Street, Ultimo.
